Entertaiment is the act of entertaining or providing amusement. It can take the form of anything from a simple choice of private entertainment from an enormous variety of pre-recorded products, to a banquet adapted for two, to performances intended for thousands, or even for a global audience. It also includes a wide range of activities, including professional sports and spectator sports. A familiar example is the story of Scheherazade, from the Persian tradition of professional storytelling, which was retold as a music composition by Rimsky-Korsakov, as a film by Pasolini, and in innovative video games.
