Entertainment is a genre of cultural activity that is designed for leisure, usually in a social context. It can also be a form of self-expression or highbrow growth, as in the various styles of rite, party, non secular pageant, and satire. It comes from medieval Latin inter tenere, with the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere, from the Indo-European root ten.
